Design Inspiration: Laundry Rooms
We love designing laundry rooms that are functional and fun to be in. This often overlooked space has so much design potential. Below you’ll find three looks, inclusive of shopping links, to help you create a space that flows with the rest of your home. And because we can’t pass up an opportunity to share some organizing and design tips, we’ve pulled a few of those together for you, too.
Use open shelving in the laundry room to keep items that you use a lot easily accessible. It’s important to pick materials that will hold up against common products in a laundry room and even water.
Use canisters and jars for laundry items such as detergent, scent beads, or reusable dryer balls.
Storage is also an important consideration. Use baskets and bins for larger items you may want to store away.
For smaller spaces, make the most of wall space vertically rather than horizontally. A stackable washer and dryer will also give you storage space on the side.
Consider foldable drying racks or items that can break down into something smaller, such as laundry baskets.
Countertops above the washer and dryer help create a multifunctional space for folding clothes.
If your laundry room doubles as a mudroom, then pick colors and materials that can stand up to the high traffic. Darker rugs are a must-have.
Good lighting is always key and we’re big fans of layering. Think overhead lighting plus wall sconces.
Now onto the moodboards!
